This should be the final Mod needed for The Sin War.

This modification is focused exclusively upon the unique items. It is geared more towards a warrior and so there are many more weapons and shields now to be found.

You'll now be able to find in The Sin War:

Many of these unique items have been lost to antiquity and will fall apart if used unwisely so be careful with those treasures.

Several original unique items remain from popular demand and overall good design, some even from single play are now completely findable in multi-player.

The programming errors by Blizzard that made some unique items unfindable in multi-player have been corrected. Now all the unique items can be found.

What I love about Diablo is it's balance and difficulty. However most unique items were never that interesting or special from their magical counterparts, this is why I created The Sin War. I have attempted to keep the balance in gameplay with these new unique items while upping the general overall power of the unique items and what they can do. Also expect to find castable spells on non staff unique items. This makes for some very interesting unique items without overpowering the game.

Unique items are now sought after objects, yet they are not just overpowered items. I have gone over and over these items and there abilities and now feel they at least equal or rival their magical counterparts, just with more balanced attributes. Now when you see a gold lettered item drop from a monster your heart will really skip a beat. Perhaps it is that one item you've always wanted to find.

What the The Sin War is not: It is not a mod where everything that can be changed has been. After many hours of experimenting with more powerful monsters and base weapons I believe that Blizzard's game play balancing of monsters and base items is just to perfect to touch. You will not find higher base item damage, here a broad sword still does 4-12 damage. Nor will you find new prefixes or suffixes, nor have I changed the money caps or moved Wirt or Adria. Everything is exactly as Blizzard created save the new and more useful unique items.

I have played a lot of the mods that are out there and one reoccurring theme has been that most unique items are made far too hard to find. I have chosen a seeding system very similar to the original Diablo and none of the new unique items are harder to find then the hardest of the original unique items were made to be found by Blizzard. If you play this mod for a while you'll see that the occurrence of unique items will be very similar to the seeding of the original unique items. So in many ways the mod is an answer to the frustration of impossible seeding of some of the other mods out there.

Since this mod is meant for multi-player I have included both the .EXE version and the .DAT version to be run together with Diablo Hack for play over Battle Net. And I have also included the excellent DiabloClicker2 program that will save your mouse. Diablo 2 will function very similarly to with no more frantic clicking just point, click and hold.

Please, when starting a new character for The Sin War use the suffix "SIN~" at the beginning of the character name as in "SIN~Balok" so that others will be able to see you and you them and play with the new unique items that The Sin War has to offer.

A word of warning: Don't use cheats or trainer with this mod. Start with a new character because if you try to import unique items they will get all messed up, the new exe must generate them for them to work correctly. Although this mod was meant for multi-player, nothing has been touched in single player, not even quest items, so single play away!
